Day 1
De Hoop Nature Reserve
We eagerly depart Cape Town for the spectacular De Hoop Nature Reserve. Light refreshments are served on board. On arrival we are met by our specialist nature guide who will give us an informative talk on topics ranging from the reserves history and geological importance, flora and fauna to more philosophical aspects. After a hearty lunch our specialist guide will provide us with fascinating information during a marine interpretation-walk covering the reserves massive coastal dunes, fynbos and inter-tidal zones. The reserve is an excellent whale watching site and also boasts large herds of game. Unwind under the starry, African sky with a fully-catered dinner, a bush barbeque in a setting that’s universally unmatched. Relax by the fire all night or retire to your comfortable, rustic chalet. |

Day 2
The Ochre Trail
After breakfast we bid our coastal reserve farewell and travel inland, through some spectacular mountain passes toward the Langeberg Mountains. On arrival, refreshments will be served and you will be introduced to our specialist rock-art guide. Embark on an easy 2-3hr walking tour with many shady stops, at various rock art sites. Our guide will help us unravel the San’s mysterious past and give insight into their strange art. Explanations will cover myths and legends of this captivating culture, the geology, flora, fauna and their specific uses to San people. We return to base for a lavish and relaxing, picnic lunch in the lee of the dramatic, sandstone landscape. The tour concludes with a drive to Cape Town through the Capes famous fruit growing region. |
